Do you sell lab grown diamonds?

While our main focus is natural diamonds, we sell lab grown diamonds per clients requests.

Do you buy back diamonds?

Yes, we're happy to take a look and see if it's a fit for our collection. We'll review all options with you and discuss if it's best for resale or to repurpose into a new piece of jewelry.

Do you appraise jewelry and stones?

Absolutely. As 4th generation diamantaires, we're happy to provide an appraisal for any jewelry or loose stones. In order to provide an accurate appraisal, we need to see the product in person along with any paperwork associated with the stone, if available.

How does the rental process work?

At Verstolo, you select natural diamond pieces from our rental collection, schedule a complimentary consultation virtually or at our NYC showroom, and receive them by nationwide overnight shipping or showroom pickup. You wear them for your 5-day wedding weekend and return them with a prepaid label. 100% of your rental fee automatically becomes credit toward a future fine jewelry purchase through our Rent.Own. program. I don't live in NY, am I still able to rent your jewelry?

Definitely! We are able to accommodate out-of-town clients with either Zoom or FaceTime appointments, please inquire for more details.

How does insurance work for rental items?

Verstolo insures every item while it is in your possession, so you can enjoy the jewelry worry-free with peace of mind. You do not need to take out any additional insurance, as any loss or problem that occurs will be covered under our policy.

Do you require a deposit?

Once you've decided which item(s) you would like to rent, we require 50% of the rental price as a deposit to reserve them for the dates of your event. The other 50% is due 1-2 weeks before your event. If you are reserving less than 30 days prior to your event, full payment is required.

How long is the typical rental period?

Our rental period is 5 days (Thursday to Monday), but we always try to accommodate for special circumstances. You can arrange to pick up and drop off your items in person or have them shipped to and from the destination of your choice. Shipping is also fully insured.

How long in advance should I reserve pieces?

Our jewelry is rented on a first come, first serve basis and we carry very few duplicate items. The earlier you reserve, the better chance you are able to pick your preferred pieces.

Are your rental pieces available for purchase?

Yes! All of our rental items are available for purchase. If you fall in love with a piece you've rented, your rental fee will go toward the final purchasing price.

Why do you rent your pieces?

We can appreciate that an expensive jewelry purchase is not always an option and we don't want that to hinder you from experiencing the luxury of wearing the perfect jewelry for life's biggest moments.

What practices do you have in place to ensure the jewelry is thoroughly cleaned?

Each piece of jewelry is cleaned via our high-powered ultrasonic machine and then steamed to ensure removal of any bacteria and to provide maximum sparkle.

What are lab-created diamonds?

Lab-created diamonds are diamonds that are grown in a lab using advanced technology that mimics the growing process of a diamond in the ground.

Are lab grown diamonds the same as naturally mined diamonds?

Lab-created and naturally mined diamonds are identical in appearance and composition. The brilliance is identical, the look is identical, the only difference is where the diamond originated.

Can someone with a trained eye notice the difference between lab grown and natural diamonds?

No, there is no visible difference between natural and lab grown diamonds. The only way to truly see if a diamond is lab-created or earth-created is with a special machine. The difference cannot be detected with a standard jewelers loupe.

Are lab-created diamonds better?

Better is not the right word as it really depends. Lab-created diamonds get graded in the same way that mined diamonds get graded, with the same 4 Cs. Lab-created offer a way to maximize your budget as they are less expensive than earth-created diamonds. They are able to provide up to 50% more size for the same budget. Earth-created diamonds are timeless, traditional and are nature's works of art.

Will I receive an appraisal or laboratory certificate with a lab-created diamond purchase?

Yes! Just like with earth-created diamonds and jewelry we offer independent appraisals and laboratory certificates.

How does the Rent.Own program work?

When you rent bridal diamond jewelry from Verstolo, your rental fee becomes an investment in your forever collection. As long as your rental is fully paid, you can activate your Rent.Own credit at any time — even before your event. That credit can be used toward the purchase of eligible pieces from The Verstolo Reserve, our curated collection of timeless, everyday diamonds.

How do I know how much Rent.Own credit I have?

Your credit equals 100% of your rental fee before tax and shipping. To confirm your credit amount or status, simply email us at info@verstolo.com.

Is there a limit to how much Rent.Own credit I can use?

Yes. Each piece is eligible for credit toward up to 50% of the item's value, with a maximum of $2,000 per piece. For example, if a necklace is $3,000, you can apply $1,500 in credit. If a piece is $6,000, you can apply the maximum $2,000.

Does my Rent.Own credit expire?

Yes. Credit is valid for 24 months from the date your rental order was paid in full. We'll send you reminders so you can shop before it expires.

Can I redeem my Rent.Own credit before I use my rental?

Yes — as long as your rental is fully paid, your credit is eligible for use right away. Important: Once you activate your credit, your rental fee becomes non-refundable.

Do any exclusions apply to Rent.Own credit?

Yes. Rent.Own credit can only be applied toward The Verstolo Reserve collection. It cannot be used for custom engagement rings, wedding bands, fully custom pieces, future rentals, gift cards, services, or taxes.

Is my Rent.Own credit transferable?

No. Credit is non-transferable and must be used by the original client.

What happens if I don't use my Rent.Own credit?

Your credit is valid for 24 months from the date your rental was paid in full. After that, it will expire. We recommend scheduling a styling session so we can help you find your perfect forever piece.
